A Green-tailed Trainbearer hummingbird searches for nectar in a garden in Ollantaytambo, Peru. The flower was in front of a terracotta wall which made for a simple yet textured backdrop. Watercolor on Yupo paper in unique as the pigment remains completely on top of this synthetic surface. The colors remain vibrant at the cost of easily managed detail.
